When I moved to Austin, Texas after college graduation many years ago, I quickly learned about TexMex food. One of my favorite places to visit was Chuy’s, with its fun atmosphere, delicious food, and great margaritas! It was an original, one-of-a-kind place to bring my friends as they visited me in Austin.
My wife and I moved to Houston a number of years later, and we had to find a new TexMex place. Lucky for us, Chuy’s was growing and they opened a location near us. The food, drink, and fun atmosphere were the same in our new city. Chuy’s was our piece of Austin as we lived 160 miles away.
When we retired and moved to Outdoor Resorts at Orlando, we were excited to find Chuy’s so close by. What fun it was to order Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and have the waiter warn me that it is “spicy.” When I told him I was from Texas, he said he would tell the cook so he would use the original recipe. It was delicious as usual and made me feel right at home.
My wife and I continue to enjoy the creamy jalapeño dip with chips, and the funny shirts still spark a laugh. We hope you give Chuy’s on 192 a try… and enjoy a taste of Austin, Texas here in central Florida!
